I am looking at getting my wife one of these for Christmas. Just wondering if anyone has had any trigger time on one?

Do you mean a 38 special? I don't know why you'd shoot an under-powered auto cartridge in a revolver?

I think he means what he said.

I know they make them, but I've never seen or shot one.

I have seen and held said revolver but have not fired one. It is a compact revolver and if it is one she would carry then go for it. One that will be carried is better than one she would not carry.

I have two of the same frame in .38. Triggers aren't too bad. Recoil is manageable and I'm sure in .380 more so. I like the guns but my wife claimed the first on for her PDW and I had to get a second for my ranch snake gun.

Interesting. Do they use a moon clip like other revolvers that shoot auto cartridges without protruding rims?

I would have thought they use moon clips. But looking at Taurus web site they make no mention of moon clips for the 380, and looking at their accessory page that lists moon clips for other revolvers does not list moon clip for the 380. So I'm going to say no they don't use moon clips. (although I guess they could use the same moon clips as the 9mm)

Interesting little gun. It would have to be better than one of those tiny Black Widow .22 revolvers.

One shot is all it should take.

It uses something called a "stellar clip" for a moon clip. In the PDF file
item # 5-0380
UPC# 7-25327-61058
They come in 5 packs.
If i had my druthers i'd not want to be shot with one.

First - to directly answer your question - I have no hands on experience with that combination. I have shot revolvers setup for 9mm.

I own/carry semi auto pistols in .380 and 9mm and I'm a revolver guy at heart. BUT, I just can't see the reason for going with the hybrid approach of using an auto cartridge in a revolver - which has the inherent complication of needing a clip of some sort. There are some really tiny .380's out there if size is most important.

If you have strong revolver preference, check out the current crop of subcompact .38 special revolvers. The lower powered ammo available these days has advantages over the .380 with a very manageable recoil.

My wife carries a tiny Ruger LCR revolver and I really like the trigger.

Thank you for all the responses. The wife is very small framed and I was looking for something with low recoil. I am going to look at the 38 with the reduced recoil rounds.

May want to look at the Ruger LCR in .327 mag, you can shoot .32 H+R mag ammo in it.
