13 Pheasants total from Sat Dec 2 to Sun Dec 3 noon. We had lots of fun but boy was it hard work! Easily walked 10 miles!

I'm assuming these are all wild birds? Was this with an outfitter?

Those birds are good looking with healthy plumage and long tail feathers, that tells me that those are wild birds. When you are hunting the vast open fields and plains you can tell the difference between a recently released pen raised pheasant and a real wild pheasant. The real wild pheasant who hatched in the wild and has been running on the ground since he came out of the egg and chased by predators from day one, has a well developed cardiovascular system and flushes fast with a vary rapid wing beat and some times flushes out of gun range. On the other hand, the fat no exercise, often poor plumage (not all of the time) pen raised pheasant has a slow motion wing beat and flush. Some times a vary easy shot.

Sounds right I have never hunted pen raised pheasant, on purpose. Hunted SD one year was worried about what had read about all the released birds there, most of the ones we found would bust 100-150 yards ahead of the dogs or hang out around a school or church.
