Saw this deer the other day. Very cool rack with really heavy bases. We hunt where the racks are very typical. We see a kicker maybe every 3 years so this is pretty wild for us. O looked and looked for nuts on it and dont think it had any. We are in AR county, but i assume that the restriction still applies to an antlered doe??

Had one like that jump in front of me a couple weeks ago on a dirt road in Robertson county.
Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

From my understanding, it is still a buck and the sex organs may be on the inside.

Wonder what causes the black tips ? Failure to completely shed and rub off velvet. Eventually there is no tissue but black remains on the antler. See it a bunch on drop tines.

Yes ARs apply, sex has nothing to do with bag limits and how to tag a deer. Antler or antlerless regardless of what love making gear they have. Same thing if you shoot a nubbin buck, if the antlers are less than an inch it is tagged as antlerless.

You need testosterone for antlers to harden, once testosterone levels reside antlers start growing again.
He has a nut some where for the antlers to harden.
I killed a few stag Whitetails that where hard horned up top but bases where still soft. Just means had a little bit more testosterone then thier velvet all year counter part

This one still had some hanging at end of October. So clearly something is off with hime. Think he will be bigger next year?

His face looks like a young deer. It would be interesting to see what he becomes next year.

Man, we have a stain of that type of genetic on our place. Have some 7.5 yr old deer that arent 13" wide.
