Started with
Savage Grs 24 in 6.5cm
-chopped to 16.25 (thanks Morgan)
Crux suppressor
Nf Atacr f1 4-16x42
Prime factory ammo

Shooting on bipods forgot my rest and definitely will need a trigger adjustment or replaced.

that's good info on a short barrel with a known factory ammo. Interested to see what a whole box of Prime looks like across that Magnetospeed, for a real world avg velocity and SD.

also good info. I've got a 21" and I really want to chop that sucker to 18". Please let us know if you get a chance to run the smaller 120 ELD-M factory ammo, ought to get your speed up a little faster in that shorty.

Nice. That's plenty of speed to make shots at 600 yards. I'm thinking about cutting my barrel down for hunting season, and setting my Tikka up with barrel nuts so I can switch to a 24" heavy target barrel during the off-season for range fun.

that's pretty good speeds for a 16" barrel, ought to be plenty to keep it effective out to the distances that I shoot.

right now, I'm getting 2910fps out of a 21" barrel with a 120 ELD-M. At 600 yards, that's 3.6mils of elevation, and a 1.3 mil hold with a 10mph crosswind. If I plug in 2726fps, my wind hold only increases by .1 mil.

Moral of the story: The decrease in velocity from a short barrel won't make it any harder to hit targets at 600 yards.
