Just a heads up here. I have been taking my deer to Gorman's meat market in Terrell for years now....but no more. I like to keep the antlers for craft projects, like knife handles etc..., and they screwed up two sets for me this year. For some reason they decided to start sawing them off differently, with the cuts taking off part of the bases of the antlers. When I told them the antlers were ruined, the lady seemed to think I should have told them to do it differently when I dropped off the deer. If I had known they would be doing this to customers antlers, I would have removed them myself as I can take a meat saw and remove the crown of the head properly in a couple minutes. Beware of them if you wish to save your deer antlers, as it looks as if this is going to continue to be a problem with them.

I think it is important to clarify your expectations regardless of where you take a deer to be processed. If they mess up after doing so, then take your business elsewhere. I live in Crandall, have taken several deer to Gorman's, and have been satisfied as a customer. I process most of my own deer, and have not been there recently.

Never had a problem with antlers there before...this has just started this year I guess. When I told them I wanted the antlers back, I just assumed they would return them without having part of them sawed off.
