Hoping our 2nd half is better than the 1st.
Warm temps and fewer ducks in my area has me tempted to not hunt in the morning.
Ehhhh who am I kidding? I’ll be setting dekes at 6 and ready to shoot at 6:38👍

It ain't easy being me.

Scouted this morning at lake 8. Saw geese on grass but no ducks and no gunshots.

No matter how high a duck flies a hammer still breaks a window.

I had been creek hunting wood ducks during the last of the 1st split. Where I have been hunting they are usually gone south by now. One off the best acorn crops I have seen in years. Hanging on the trees and not souring since there has been no rain. There are 100s of wood ducks there. I figure I have both residents and short stopped migrators. The only non wood duck I have seen in the last month is a single blue wing teal.

Shot a couple woodies in Brookshire this morning. Likely resident birds.

Shot a two man limit and had about 250 birds decoy on public. They were trying to come in when we were picking up at 7:30 this morning. It was almost comical. Hopefully we can do it again tomorrow and not get "Scouted" roflmao
