Been put in charge of finding something. Under $250 may be able to stretch up to 300 but not 100% sure of that. Prefer 9mm but anything is an option. Would like to stay away from the junk but with their budget maybe not much of an option.

Some will say its junk, but with that budget, I think its your best bet. Plus Taurus has a really great warranty program

They are wanting something for defense while the 22 would potentially do the job Iím pretty sure they want something bigger. The Taurus was the first thing to come to mind but figure Iíd try here before hand.

Will send some on my move out list, and will keep it to that range.

Personally, if I was going to have to buy something that cheap, I would go revolver. Semi-auto for that price range may be giving someone a false sense of security when in actuality, it may be better to throw the gun at them rather than try to fire it. Just my 2 cents.

That's a tight budget. I'd buy a good quality used S&W revolver, like a model 64. Or model 10.

Buy a Kahr. They are accurate and reliable. I'm a gun snob, but do often carry a Kahr.

This one is well below your budget.

Another vote for 9mm S&W SDVE. Should be less than $300 used because often on sale at Academy for $269-289 brand new. Good guns with a decent trigger. Just takes getting used to.

I bought a Shield for less than $300 that looked brand new and I got the box, papers, two mags.

Otherwise I'd go revolver.

Don't buy a Taurus, their service is deplorable.
