Lots. But more specifically - Looking to get my first suppressor, want to get an updated worthy rig for it. Lookin at the RRA Lar-15 carb comp with the bull barrel. Any input on this rifle? Suggestions of other rigs to look at? Is suppressing bull barrels kosher ? Any input greatly appreciated guys I’m just getting into it.

Final product for stealthy predator hunting purposes mainly of course.

Crux (crow) Suppressors. Any quality AR platform will suffice. But one name works for me,Seekins and done. Of course these aren't budget friendly but quality isn't cheap

I went through the exact same thing. I don’t think you’ll like the bull barrel. Here’s what I put together:

Rock river Predator Pursuit 16” upper
https://www.rockriverarms.com/index.cfm?...F8A5E7B.cfusion

I built my own lower off a Spikes Tactical, Magpul Furniture, and Timney trigger. And 10 round Pmags. 30 is unnecessary and too heavy.

Topped it with a Leupold VXR 4-12x40 CDS.

I then bought an SAS Titanium Arbiter suppressor.

It’s lightweight, compact and super accurate. It can ride on my console, it’s easy to carry, swings great, it’s light but heavy enough it’s solid on the high rack rail and in sticks. If it just shot 22-250 instead of 223 it would be perfect.

yep, not a fan of bull barrels unless it is always off a bench.

I have 4 Crux cans and absolutely love them, light Ti cans are awesome and they are as good as you can buy.

Light is good..
Ti is ideal but you pay for it. You can buy some designed for hunting that are light and not expensive like the Griffin Sportsman or SilencerCo Harvester. They use aluminum for the outer tube vs ti or the much heavier steel and they are priced nicely.

Can's come in generally 3 sizes, full length, mid and compact. I like the compact for out hunting as they are even lighter and are less likely to bump a blind window, etc.. full size are the quietest.

That leaves mid size cans around 7" as a very good all around "compromise" The Dead Air Sandman-S is a good one, not too heavy, good mounts that have a repeatable point of impact and are reasonably priced.

30 cal cans are the most flexible allowing you to run up to a 300 winmag on a lot of them or down to a 5.56 with the right mount.

I gotcha on any decent platform. I believe I’m straying away from the bull barrel because I would want the lighter weight. Gunna look up those cans

I don't have any bull barrels but I also don't have pencil one's either. Just a little heavier works fine. 18" is my favorite, but also use 16" and a 20", all are threaded and have a quick mount for suppressor.

This is about as good a deal as you will find in my opinion.

I have both the Silencerco Harvester and the Omega. The Omega is what rides on my 6.8 RRA Coyote Carbine. I have a RRA ATH .223 Wylde with the 18" heavy barrel and by the time you load it all up it's not fun to carry a long way. Both are super accurate, though, repeatable .75" 5 shot groups (probably better if I was better) at 100 yds with box ammo. The Harvester is a good can for the money, just a bit on the long side.

Sooooo the schooling continues ..

Went ahead and got my can. Went with the dead air sandman TI for a 308.

I thought I was dead SET on the DPMS compact hunter in the 16” barrel but after some research come to find out that model uses a thread crown barrel, which cannot be threaded?? Is that correct or what? Anything else I need to look out for / stray away from when I choose a rifle?

I have never heard of a barrel that can’t be threaded. Says it’s Teflon coated whatever that matters. I’d call Morgan at Dallas Shooting or PM him on here and ask. Bet it’s threadable.
