After my last hunt of the weekend. Unless I'm hunting an area into the late morning, then I'll go pull that card as I'm getting out of the blind.

During the summer before bow season starts I normally pull the cards in the middle of the day. Once bow season starts I usually pull the card after a morning hunt. I agree for the most part that once the rut starts to get going you have a lot bucks that leave and you have new ones that start to show up. The movement starts to become random with not much pattern to it, but I still think that there is some information you can get by checking your camera during that time. For example, this year we had a good deer that showed up about the third week of October. We would get daytime pictures of him about once a week. That went on until about two weeks ago when we started getting daytime pictures of him multiple times a week. Then about a week ago he started showing up consecutive times in a row. So last Saturday my dad saw him in the morning, but still too dark for a shot. My dad wasn't going to hunt that afternoon because it got up really warm, but I told him that based on the camera that he should go ahead and hunt. I felt like based on the camera the deer would be back that afternoon. He did show back up and my dad got him. Sure this is probably a rare occasion, but I do feel the camera did provide some help in getting him.

Whenever I get out to the lease, I always try to get there around noon and immediately check cameras to see what the current action is like. Do you guys do that as well, or do you just roll in and only go to your spots when getting into the blind/stand? My father is usually there before me and pulls all the cards. Sometimes we check them before the hunt and sometimes we wait until that night.

As we're filling feeders, if I remember to bring the replacement SD cards, but I seem to be the only one left with any interest in them. The first year the other guys would stay up past 11pm looking at pictures. Now, on our third year, what I call "entropy" has set in. However, interest will probably bump back briefly, since I found what looks to be a mature 150" ten on camera.

What I want to see at cams on feeder lots doe. I'll place cameras away from the feeders out in the woods and on trails and I do catch pictures of nice bucks but in the last 16 years in this area I'm not seeing a really nice buck under my feeder on the camera but I have killed a nice buck almost every year they just come out and look in the Cuts looking down the cuts and small clearings at the doe under the feeder that's how i usually get nice buck. I ck cards bout every 4 days got to go 5 doe at feeder now

Before season: mid day, mid week. Once season starts, swap cards when I get to stand to hunt. Also check if/when topping off feeders.
Thank you...thank you very much

Do y’all feel checking the cameras a few hours before hunting would effect the hunt? Scent lingering in the area spooking deer or hog?

I don't put them out any more so I have nothing to check....hunting is much more relaxing just waiting to see what shows up.....

Remove SD cards the very last thing I do weekly. I find some deer that I use to see are not around at all while there are still some regulars. Then I will see bucks that I have never seen before...this makes me hopeful a really good buck may come back.
