Short version. Pull up to the property, get our grit together, and get to scouting. In first 5 min spot a group of 6, kill 4 , then get mad ourselves for missing last 2. No big deal . Next hour not much action so decided to leave and go somewhere else . Head back to truck and spot a single , in same pasture we killed first group . Set out to make him quit breathing. About halfway into stalk, he lays down to go to sleep . Just like ambien kicked in . Cut the distance in half , made too much noise in dry grass, he jumps up to bolt, and my copilot ear holes him. Walk over for hero pictures, and thereís 2 pigs dead....... when he laid down, it was right next to one weíd shot earlier. One of the escapees, didnít make it. Just small pig, in tall grass. I canít help but think the last pig thought he was joining a bedding area. Odds of him picking that exact spot to rest are zero . Iíve walked up on bedding areas with sleeping pigs , but never seen one lay down next to a dead one . Anybody ever seen something like that?
