How many acres per hunter on your lease? number of acres divided by hunters.

We have 183 acres per hunter, but in actuality half the land is pasture and not huntable so probably closer to 91 acres per hunter. This is mesquite scrub so from an elevated blind you can see half mile easily.

Please state what type of land you are hunting with your average.

We hunt right at 10k acres and have 10 hunters so 1000 a hunter. There is alot of land that doesn't have stands on it. We have working oil pumpjacks all over the property also. It's in west Texas south of big lake.

We have 500 acres and only two of us, we have creek bottom and scattered oaks throughout the rest with the exception of 100 acres of coastal on the front that is not hunted so we have 200 acres each.

We have eight stands on 600 acres, but only two dedicated hunters. A couple of nieces hunt one-two days per year.

We have 10k and have 9 paying members but only about 3-4 serious hunters.

10 on 2500 acres but no more than 3 or 4 there at a time. So far only 4 deer have been harvested.

In the Rolling Plains where I hunt, I wouldn't hunt more than 1 gun per section and preferably 1 gun per 1000 acres. It's more expensive but there's also a lot fewer problems.

Depends on where you are. In West Texas, I like 1,000 acres/hunter and in the Hill Country approximately 300/hunter. In South Texas, typically a hunter to every 400-500 acres.
Adios,

I thought we had 2 on 100. Both at separate corners of the place. Turns out we have 2 stands, but my wife's cousin let's 3 of his friends hunt out there whenever they want. So we actually have 5 people hunting out there. Probably using my stand when I'm not around. Needless to say, this is the last year I'm hunting out family place I think. It's free, but I never see deer, and I think I know why now.

I agree, it depends on where and how open the land is. We had about 2500 acres in Northern Throckmorton County years ago, and hunted about 10-12 guys. From my stand, I could see about 2-3 other stands. The land was wide open and fairly congested for the size and type of land.

Now, I'm in Stephens County, and we have 1900 acres with about 10-12 hunters. 14 pay, but some are duck and turkey hunters only. Some hunters have 2 stands, and it does start to get a little tight. But the land is a cross between mesquite and heavy hardwoods with some nice elevation changes on it.

The land in Stephens Cty will hunt more dense, where the Throckmorton place was wide open and over crowded.
