I’m looking to buy 2 scopes, one for a 22-250 and one for a 300 win mag. These guns will primarily ride around in my truck and I’m a pretty big leupold fan but don’t want to buy 2 more vx6 or vx5hd. What’s some good clear scopes that can take a beating that I won’t have $1000 a piece in? I’m always riding around my buddies ranch and I will have shots ranging from 25 yards all the way out past my ability. I’d sink bout $1000-1200 in for 2 scopes

You're asking a lot at $500-$600 apiece for good glass, built tough, big zoom range, and reliable tracking. SWFA is doing 20% off Burris XTR II. You can get the 4-20 for $800. You'll be in $1600 for both and it would fulfill all your requirements. If your budget is firm, the SWFA 3-15 is on sale for $525 right now and is probably your only option. But 15x is short for a 300WM.

Well I mean past my ability which is under 300-350 yards. I’d spend a little more on the 300wm cause I have plans to take it and get it “built” so I’d eventually have to put some nice glass on it. I believe in the buy once cry once. I’ve been curious bout the SWFA scopes I heard they are super tough but are they decent in the clarity department?

Dang right they are. The SS 5-20 HD anyway. Pretty sure the SS 3-9 is the same glass quality.

Tough to come in on that budget, with tqo scopes.

I haven't seen the 5-20 but the SS 3-9 is an excellent scope. I bought one last year and just bought another. At $450, it's a steal.

Well I came across a vortex viper HS 6-20x50 for under $300 brand new so I’m thinking I’ll put it on the 22-250 but I’m going to check out the SWFA for my 300wm. If I spend over $500 which would be a good SWFA scope for it? Mainly pigs and deer 25-300 yards.

5-20 HD is their top of the line and worth the money if you can stretch your budget. $1300 new for non illuminated and on sale for 10% off right now I believe.

3-15 non-HD and 3-9 HD are your primary options past that. The 3-9 will have better optics. 3-15 has zoom you won’t need if you’re only going to 300. I think the 3-9 HD is a great value on sale right now for $450. I haven’t personally looked through it. But if the HD glass in it is on par with the 5-20, it’s definitely a good scope for the money.

Well $1300 is something I could swing in the next few weeks once we are done buying Christmas presents for the family and my son. I’ll keep my eye on them. Since we are now in the price range of another vx6hd that I already have one of and a vx5hd has anyone been able to compare them side by side?

Burris RT6. Excllent for close shots and enough power to go 400-500 yards. Plus, one scope will only set you back $325 or so.

Keep an eye on the SWFA Sample List if you're not going to take advantage of the sales today (cyber Monday).

The 3-9 HD was on sale for $450. Not sure if they have any left.

They had 10% off site-wide if I remember correctly. I think it shows up when you add the item(s) to your cart?

The 3-15 is a great zoom range, but the optical clarity isn't on par with their HD series.

It's a very good value at $525 in my opinion, but at it's normal price of $700 I would start considering other options like a discounted Burris XTR II 3-15 or PST Gen 2 3-15.
