so what's the replacement for this Hornady bullet? My 22-250 and 22CM both like this bullet, yotes and pdogs are not so happy.

Not sure if they are calling it a replacement, but Hornady is now making a 75 gr ELD.

saw that but it's a M (match) I would be happy if it was offered as a X. Friend tried the ELD-M and it passes right thru the animal and he also said tiny entrance and exit wounds. Made me think there was no expansion.

I'd say the new eldm isn't a exact replacement as it is a touch longer and has a bit of a better bc. I've been running a 80gr vld in my 22cm with great results but I'm kicking around trying the 80gr eld and 90gr vld.

I looked at a cross section of both side by side. Internally I could not readily see any difference, tip color only. Could bullet speed have any thing to do with expansion? Maybe too fast? Just thinking out load.

I switched from 80 gr AMax to the 80 ELD-M and have not really seen much change. I shot 14 coyotes and 1 good size hog on a recent hunt all DRT.

I've been shooting the 75 BTHP Match out of my Tikka 223 with very good results. Have not tried the ELD-M.

I'm using a 77 Sierra Match King in my 22-250. Haven't killed enough to really form a solid opinion but this hog thought it sucked big time. No exit. Of course I don't know of anything that can handle one to the head.
