I really wanted my grandson to shoot this one as he was coming in this morning about 8, but he turned away and left him no shot. I decided to stand up on the ladder stand, make a sound to get him to turn and shoot through a hole in the branches. Well, that didn't turn out good. His leg took the hit and he disappeared into the brush with no blood trail. We caught up with him a few hundred yards away, gave him a 45 minute pause, and then started seriously tracking his distinct tracks with the bad leg. Found him 3 hours after the shot-he made one more attempt to flee and gave up. We completed the hunt and I'm so glad and thankful I didn't leave a wounded animal out there!

Great buck and good job! Some people would have gave up and started over! True trophy and you will always remember that hunt!!! Congrats.
