We have a small place a few miles south of Santa Anna. Seen a good number of deer this year. I will look for more pics, but here are a couple for you.

By the way, the year is wrong on those pics. All were taken this year.

Some looong years back we had a K acre lease about a mile+ s'east of the High School, just around th corner where the pumpjack is on top on the east side of the road, with the east edge of the lease bordered by the same big ususally dry wash that you cross on Hwy 67 coming into town....only "trophy" anybody got was the 5 1/2" plus 22lb 9oz on a meat scale Buzztail I shot down in the wash while scouting.

Without his business part still attached, I carried the critter out in the dark wrapped around my arm and calling to his buddies, without a flashlight or compass... and still get the heebiejeebies remembering THAT dummkopf "adventure" whenever I smell SNAKE....and killed more than a few all over the place. Lots of turkeys though, and everyday casual poaching from the neighbors who had keys to the back and side gates very common in those days.
