So I realize theres an archery section but I’m sure one of you guys can answer my question. My daughter is 9 and has been wanting a bow & arrow for awhile now. Figured I’d get her one for Christmas this year. She is right handed, but left eyed dominant. It seems to make a huge difference when she’s shooting guns, what’s going to happen with a right handed bow?

I’m just going to be buying a cheap little bow, I don’t want to buy anything expensive.

You can shoot a bow with both eyes open.

I was wondering if that was an option, been way too many years since I shot one. Thank you

I am cross eye dominant and close my left eye. It has never slowed me down a bit.

Same here. Especially on shots inside 30 yards

I have always been right eye dominant and just found out I have astigmatism only in my right eye. My left eye is clearer (glasses are coming in this week to fix this) but I still shoot right handed.

My girlfriend is left eye dominant but right handed and can not close her left eye. We got her safty glasses and put electrical tape over the left side . she has no problems

Point is , go for it and see how she does.

My brother has that issue with eye dominance. I was thinking about getting him a left handed bow. My old neighbor used to.shoot competition traditional and asked him about it. He said I shoot both eyes open. Now this guy was like top 5 in the world in his day. He was like shoot your bow open and close your left eye and see if the pin moves or you lose concentration. Sure enough I actually like it. Keeps a better eye on your target.

I'm left handed and right eye dominate. I've always shot rifles/shotguns right handed but left handed bows. Was never very good with a bow despite 15 years of off and on practice, about 3 years ago I finally tried a right hand bow and groups almost immediately shrank in half. At least for me its more comfortable/repeatable to do something cross handed than it is to use the weaker eye.
