And what is a trophy for the area that you hunt? I have hunted a 450 acre piece of land in East Coleman county for 15 years and 140s is a trophy for this area.

Cass county, 100 acres and first year but it looks like 120's around here also is a trophy.
I hope to do better with feedings and food plots and letting them grown some.

I have a small 70 acre place that I leased for my kids in bandera county. There any mature buck is a trophy, with a 130" whitetail being a real good one. Axis deer quality is decent with a 30" buck being realistic

I hunt a 70k acre place in the trans pecos for mule deer where I am real selective about what I shoot, 160" is more or less a good min into the 190's being possible

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Robertson County 140's , Webb County 180's and Zavala County 170's. The bar is raising every year since management plans were put in place.

5000 acres with 7 hunters in Menard County.
A big deer is 120-130" and that is 6-8 years old. One every few years there is 140".
We lease for pigs, a few does and elbow room.

Hunt county I would say that 140 is average for someone that is patient. The mark for Hunt county is 160 to 170 for the lucky hunter my friend came home from Childres because he was sick and shot 181 in his field two weeks ago.

300 acres here in Erath. A 130" 10pt is a good deer around here. Have bigger on camera. Just the average mature buck. Comal county, 200 acres. 120" deer is a trophy.

SW Stephens county, three hunters on 1045 acres. 130's with the occasional 140. No 130's this year though. This is my 20th year of owning the ranch, I have only killed 5 Bucks off it.

You described it very well, we have many 120s with a few 130s and a rare 140s about every 4 years making a 140 on our place a trophy.

Hunting on Camp Bullis, Not as good a place to hunt as it once was, and they hunting program has dwendled down to about 100 archers this past season.
Loss of hunting area due to training, and encroachment from developers around the post have taken a toll on what used to be one of the best places to take a trophy buck less than 30 minutes from the Alamo.
Biggest buck taken there back in 2004.
The buck gained a lot of notoriety back then......Do a search on "Bullis Buck"

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.
