So, who uses the tall ones? Guys with really big bellies. Maybe I should keep the tall one and get the shorter one until I grow into the tall one. The button on these pants is telling me it's a good idea. Good idea. With Harris you’re in good hands. You can even upgrade to the 12-25” version when time comes.

This post brings up a question. Why doesn’t Harris add the pod lock extended handle since unless you go the Chad ( pliers) AKA redneck route you cannot get the thing tight enough to not move on you?

I'm thinking the Loctite would be a hindrance in moving it to other guns. If it just stays on one gun I would think pliars would be the best answer. P_102

What does the pod loc do? Does it lock down the swiveling motion? I wasn't able to increase the tension enough with the knob they put on there from the factory. Hand tight, it still lets the rifle flop around from side to side with ease. I've never used a Pod Loc, just bought an Atlas instead. But I'm guessing it allows you to get it tighter so the rifle is easier to keep in place after you've addressed the cant.

Why doesn't Remington pair with Timney and put those triggers in a model 700?

What does the pod loc do? Does it lock down the swiveling motion? Harris puts a knurled knob on it. Bare handed you can't get the cant motion tight enough, so you have to grab pliers. The Pod-Loc removes the knurled knob and is a handle about 1 1/2" long, where you can adjust tightness with no tools. It has a nrutral setting so you can fold it out of the way for slinging the rifle. Terry Cross is a long time competition shooter. He watched himself, and many other competitors grabbing their Leatherman to adjust the knurled knob. He said "this is ridiculous", and developed the Pod-Loc.

Just think of how much they've lost to Savage, Ruger, Tikka, etc. over the years because those others come with good reliable triggers and the 700 doesn't.

I've heard from several reliable sources that Remington's quality is headed downward anyway. At this point, would Timney triggers really even do anything to help sales and value of product? Yes the trigger would be better but what about the rest of it?

Yes the trigger would be better but what about the rest of it? No, but 6-8 years ago it would have made a lot of sense. I agree that I wouldn't buy a Remington with any trigger now. But if they had put Timneys in everything a decade ago, I might not have that opinion of them now.

No, no, no, never turn your back on beer and Mexican food. Some days that's the best part of the day. Just less of the food, more hard work.
