That's awesome.....can you share some of what you learned from her?

Merry Christmas.....

Here are some things she told us about her husband. "He was built like Hoss Cartright off Bonanza and had that nickname. He was raised farming and taking care of cattle. He was working for an elevator company, I did not ask what he done for them, in Oklahoma and the owner moved the company to Texas and they were not intending to move with the company. After a few months the owner called and said he needed to get to Texas, he needed him bad and that is how they came to Texas and never left. The only hunting he done was a kid, he would hunt rabbits for diner". She did not know anything about him putting the bottle or exactly where he put it in the river". After he passed she never remarried, said after she found a good one there was no sense in trying to find another one. She seemed full of energy and spunk.

This really is an awesome story. So glad you were able to find relatives. I will definitely be looking a little closer at old bottles!
