For years I've given them a pass, but today that changed. The cat came in on the same trail as two button bucks about 10 minutes after the deer walked through. I shot the cat, laid it beside my blind and finished my hunt. One of the button bucks walked by my blind and I guess he saw the cat. For the next thirty minutes the buck stayed within 5-10 yards of my blind. He would stop close to the cat, stomp his front leg and snort. Not sure what that was all about, but the tiny buck seemed to be showing the cat who was the boss. Maybe the buck smelled me, but he was intently focused on the cat. Picture of the cat and buck standing near where the cat was laying.
