It’s been a while since i’ve seen the bucks so glassy eyed and lustful. All I want is the ugly twisted horn spike, but haven’t seen him yet. Went out in the late morning today to hunt what we used to call the Noon Express. Here came a 6 point that kept showing up, disappearing, and coming back. Could have shot him at least 5 times today and 2 or 3 times yesterday. We’ll save him for next year. This evening I was climbing the ladder up to my 10 foot high blind and here comes a monster buck. If he saw me, he ignored me. Would have shot him if his right side of the rack was as good as the left side, which was 5 points, high, wide and bone white. Left side is messed up. Ok, maybe next year.

Even if i’m ‘Buckless’ so far, this beats working.

It definitely beats working, although when I was working I didn't have to get up at 4:30 am.day after day. To say I'm a little bleary eyed would be an understatement.

Rut is in full swing here, saw two young bucks looking for love yesterday evening.
This morning at 6:26 saw a pretty big buck following a doe walked to within 30 yards of me before leaving the field. Saw 3 more young bucks running amuck but nothing within the last hour.
My belly is growling at me to get some sausage eggs and biscuits in the tank laugh

got back from Waco about 1pm and pulled into the carport. Right in front of us, maybe 40 yards, was a fat young doe and the sex machine buck we call Loverboy. Neither of them took any notice of us at all. She spurned him and he slowly trotted out of the yard, in no hurry at all. I swear I think that Loverboy is going to die from too much sex, but it’s a good way to go. He’s on the hunt 24/7.

Had a young buck running a hot doe like a well trained cutting horse in the neighbors side yard this morning in Harrison county. Glad starting Saturday I have the next 9 days off to hunt.
