You need to go back and read everything you originally wrote. I didn’t quote it all. You misspoke.

TPWD clearly states what is and isn’t allowed. Everyone is free to look it up and interpret it however they like. I just didn’t want a new guy getting the little details wrong because of what’s being thrown around the internet. I’m not saying anyone is completely wrong about the predation thing. I’m saying some weren’t completely right. But you’re free to come to your own conclusions. I won’t argue about it anymore.

Well since no one is arguing, what did I misspoke about?

You said that a license wasn’t needed for predation control. The law says depredation, and there is a difference. Like I said, you simply misspoke. No big deal, but legally, it matters.

wow, ya think depredation is caused by predation? Or what does wiki world have to say about that?

sorry to get your knickers in a knot.

I’m fine. You okay?

They’re two different words that mean two different things. TPWD used one and not the other for a reason. If we’re going to give legal advice, we should probably be specific and correct.

You aren't looking at the different meanings of the same word. All you are seeing is agricultural destruction. That is one definition, as is plunder, looting, pillaging, robbery, devastation, destruction, damage, rape, ravages, raids . If your eggs are being eaten by a fox I don't see much use of that agricultural definition. Whereas you are the one whom misspoke by saying, "if the hunter possesses a trapper’s license". That is incorrect twice. He doesn't need a hunters license or a trappers license.

Yes you do. The only exception to that is depredating hogs and coyotes, or furbearers if the hunter possesses a trapper’s license.
No you don't. Anybody can kill hogs if they are tearing your place up without a license. Anybody can kill coyotes if they are attacking/killing livestock or fowl without a license. Anybody can kill beavers that are daming up a creekbed or such without a license. You only need a trapper license if you intend selling the hide.

You need to read a little better.
I read it just fine and I know what I read. You DO NOT need a license to kill hogs causing destruction. You DO NOT need a license to kill a coyote that is about to or has been attacking livestock/fowl. You DO NOT need a license to kill a fur bearing animal causing destruction.

I’m aware. That’s why I said you need to read better. You aren’t picking up what I’m putting down.
