Guys, this fallow escaped his high fence 14 months ago. I did everything I could to help the owner get it back. During this time I was well within rifle range many times. After several weeks the previous owner told me to go ahead and kill the deer if I get the chance. As you can imagine the deer disappeared. Tracked him on camera until December and he quit showing up. I figured he left the place and was shot. About a month ago I spotted him running away as I drove into a pasture. Tried to hunt him unsuccessfully for two weeks. Finally he showed back up on camera and I pulled out all of the stops. I got him yesterday morning. Instead of driving into the area where he was hanging out, I walked in. I caught him slipping up and was able to kill him. I am really excited about this because I would never spend the money to kill an exotic of this caliber.

great looking buck, congrats.

I had to edit the files and save as peg to get them to a format they would post.

Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.

beautiful buck.Plus it is a rare person that would show that restraint and not have shot him way earlier. My hat is off to you

Thank you sir. I do my best to be a good neighbor. In my experience doing the right thing seems to pay off.

Beautiful deer. Question: How were you going to get it back in the high fence?

The owner intended to dart it. I had a few questions but he said it knocks then down pretty quick. If it made it into the brush on my place he never would have found it.
