Well I have the bug for another AR 10, sold my last one years ago during one of the big scares during the Obama years (made some real good money on it too). Looking for some suggestions on what is the best bang for your buck these days with an AR 10(pun intended). Let me know what yall think......

Diamondback DT-10 or Delton Echo 308 are your best "bang for the buck"

I didn't throw in PSA because that's so dern cheap I gotta think you get what you pay for I.e. Too good to be true ....

I have one, that I've replaced the trigger, and installed an adjustable gas block. It is a good rifle, that shoots well on hand loads.

Thanks for the input. My previous AR-10 was an LMT, and it was a true shooter. Never failed to run anything I ran in it. could I expect somewhat same performance out of the ones listed above? Not looking to shoot 1000 yards with it, but would like to stretch it out past 600. Mostly looking for reliability.

went 5/5 on a 12" steel plate with my Grendel last week, and watching the trace through the scope was fairly easy once I got my [censored] together and got behind the gun right. felt like I was shooting a BB gun too. you should try it out before you buy an AR-10. I only say this because I know you have one, haha.

Very true! Just wanting a more conventional round to bang away with. you know like a ranch gun that will run and parts and ammo are readily available. We have had some pretty unnerving events happen recently at the ranch, so one that can be kept in the ranger when we are out driving around and not be overly concerned with being abused.

It is known by many people here, that ARs hate me. In order for me to obtain reliability I do two things.

1. Regularly clean, the upper and bolt.
2. Make sure plenty of oil is reapplied, and keep it that way.

I LOVE my Wilson Combat AR10...
I rarely clean or lube mine, but they also all run coated BCGs.

I have the 18" Fluted (scope is now a Steiner 3-15)
It's a shooter for sure...

Charles,

Let me shoot it, and it will fail to eject, or fail to go into battery.

Guarantee it. grin

I like my DPMS Recon but it's a G1. Supposedly the new ones come with the Geissele SSA trigger. Mine didn't, so I dropped in one ($200 ouch.)

Truth, JG drops gremlins into every AR he touches. I had to get an exorcist to fix mine after he shot it just once!

I thought you were looking for cheapest AR10 options , my misread

If you're looking for top accuracy and bang for the buck I'd recommend LaRue Tacticals new Ultimate Upper offering

You can get a complete rifle ,you assemble it, for 1500.00 and it comes in either 308 or Creedmoor

You can't beat the deal unless you build one yourself and carefully source parts.

Disclaimer:

I don't have any ties to LaRue I'm an owner of only this version of his rifle

DONT be in a hurry to receive it - took 5 weeks to get the upper kit and at current I still don't have the lower (after 8 weeks)

And you may receive a kit that needs to have oil applied to even out the finish and may be missing a barrel nut

BUT other than that

Accurate as hell and top quality components!

All are 5 shot groups

Handloads development

The assembled upper - 22" 6.5 Creedmoor
