Nothing I would agree more than this. if it is shooting gees in Conservation season
it is totally a different ball game. than go to Kansas.

To me there's a big difference in having six ducks come in one at a time and shooting your limit compared to watching flocks of 500+ mallards land in your spread.

x2, sometimes you just don't even shoot

So a few months back I asked for you guys to suggest an outfitter in the US I could go to for a great duck hunting trip. Several of you said Ben Webster. Thank You!!! My son and I flew up to Wichita drove over to Hutchinson and slaughtered the Mallards and Lesser Canadas over three days. Ben and his team are top notch! Very mindful of the rules and regulations and safety as well as having a great time. I have since reread this thread and the collection of water fowling wisdom in here (with a few exceptions grin ) is fantastic.

Was right up there with my Saskatchewan hunts for sure! (And now I think I have an even better understanding as to why our Mallard counts are lower than years past! Lot's of corn cobs on the ground in the fields up there!)

Thanks Ben for a great hunt, great service, and great memories!

I would go to Minnesota, I have friends there that are duck and goose hunters. Next choice would be out side of Cabot Arkansas, the guy has some of the best dogs and the hunting is also pretty good. Last choice would be Devils Lake North Dakota, one last hunt just for the fun of it.

This. Sea ducking out of a layout boat is a really cool experience. The goose hunting on the eastern shore is outstanding as well. I go every fall when I visit family.

Personally id recommend Eastern Arkansas. There is tons of public land and tons of ducks to go with it. We usually kill at least a limit between my dad and I everytime we go.
