Last night I hunted at the high fence game ranch where hogs broke in earlier in the year. I have shot hogs and another coyote out of this same area previous, but this is the first time I have been able to actually use the box stand as previously it was full of wasps. I was watching the deer and elk feed when I noticed one looking off to the side. I peered out the window in that direction and it was a coyote right in front of the stand. A quick shot and she was down and the other game just kept right on feeding. About 3 hours later, no hogs had shown up, so I retrieved the coyote, got pics, and turned to head to the truck and discovered a small sounder in the field just south of me...

Cool splatter on that yote. Do you think you're making any progress on the hogs that broke in or are they reproducing faster than you can kill them?

Well, I am making progress, but the initial estimate of the number of hogs present was an underrepresentation. I was told there were about 20 hogs on the property and I have killed 10 (confirmed) and shot at least 3 more. Three weeks ago, I saw a group running through the woods that had at least 20. For all I know, there is more than one group. So making progress, yes, but I don't think I am winning. The only really good news is that I have not seen any itty bitty newborns or their sign, yet. Killing the pregnant sow was definitely a good thing. I don't doubt there are others.
