snake boots. I don't use a light if I don't have to. If I need a light I use red.

Green and snake boots. Buy boots or at minimum some snake gaiters.

Green light only if needed. I wear rubber boots and have never seen a rattlesnake in the dark on the way to the stand.

If you want some friendly advice, get a haircut and take a bath. You wouldn't get hassled so much.

I wear rubber boots and green headlamp when it is really dark. It paid off for me last season when I nearly stepped on this little fella. It was a cool morning and he didn't move until I rammed a muzzy broad head through his melon.

I follow a caliche road to the blind, if there is any natural light at all I don't need a light to get there. Snake boots are a must in our area.

I have a multi-color headlamp that turns on only when I need it. Rarely actually need it unless during bow season when I'm having to get my climber and everything situated so I don't fall to my death.

I let my eyes adjust and just walk in. Probably wouldn't be able to see a snake but just don't like turning on a light. Snake boots aren't for me but a lot of people seem to like them. I do hate walking face first into spider webs though!

I use white light from flashlight or light on my cap. I really don't think the light spooks game. I am much more conscious and deliberate about the direction of my approach based on tne wind than I am about using a light. When 50 degrees or more I definitely have my snake boots on.

Green or red depending on which one I grab first in my backpack. Hunt in the East Texas river bottoms and we have Cotton Mouths and they give no warning so its snake boots unless it cold.

When 50 degrees or more I definitely have my snake boots on. I still wear the snake boots in 30* weather. Several years ago, I had a lease in Olney. I killed a 4.5' rattler that was sunning when it was 36*. I always wear my snake boots now no matter the temp.

The key is to get comfortable snake boots. You should try on different brands and find one that fits you. I love the chipawa predator model. It has great protection but enough gap where my jeans never bunch up in them. They are very comfortable so I always wear them regardless of the temperature because they are great at keeping sand stickers, cactus and all the plants that stick you at bay. Especially when walking in the dark.

Snake boots when its above 50° a light is nice. Wont step in a whole or a hog slash snake. I walk miles and miles, so I get bit and step on snakes and jump sleeping hogs like rabbits. If the moon is well lit I walk without a light. East Tx. Has 4 big fanged types too. Rattlers, cotton mouths, copper heads, and hogs.

White light. Dont think the color matters when your crunchin rocks sticks and ten feet tall rag weed.
