Been trying to sell some things lately to fund a new project, and it got me to thinking about things I would never, ever sell. I really only came up with three, all tied to my father:

- Belgian Browning A5 Light 20 ga. that he gave me for high school graduation. (I took the Leon Measures "Shoot Where You Look" course about 15 years ago, and Leon pulled me aside, pointed at it and said, "Last time I cried was when they stopped making that.")

- Marlin 336 30-30, bought new by my father at a hardware store in Sweetwater in 1962 or so, part of my inheritance when he passed away. Killed a lot of deer and pigs with it.

– Filson Tin Shooting Bag, Christmas gift 20 years ago, I just love the quality and every blood stain makes it that much better.

What do you have that will never be for sale?

I would eat Ramen but would never sell:

1)My Dad’s first deer rifle - a pre-64 Winchester 94 .30-30. I killed my first deer with it too.
2)The Sako .270 I bought with summer/after school job money in 1979 - killed 90% of my whitetails with it and lugged it (at 9.5 lbs) all over the Trigo mountains in AZ because it was the rifle I wanted in my hands for the shot of a lifetime on my desert ram.
3)Hand quilted knapsack my grandmother made me to carry in the squirrel woods when I was a boy. It has carried many a bushy tail.

There may be a few others but those come to mind without effort.

My dad's Sako L579 243 that what was his favorite rifle! And the matching Ruger 243 and 270 rifles that he bought for he and I for deer hunting in 1970! i shot many whitetails with his Sako 243 and my two best just short of 140" bucks shot in Llano. I still have all 3 rifles and will never let them go! As well as his 222 Mohawk 600 .222 which was his Turkey rifle that to this day is on with the 1 3/4 x 5x Redfield scope! last shot i have taken is a crow at 100 yards and right on!

About 10 guns, the ranch. Probably that is it. I have a lot of other stuff that would be real high if I did sell.

My Grandfather's two guns: Model 97 and a Model 94. The 25-06 I gave my Dad. Dad's 30-06. My Black Lab pup.

My hand me down guns were stolen in a break in years ago.

There are a few sentimental items around but none that anyone would want to buy anyways.

NP let's see that knapsack.

Like most others above, I have guns that I inherited from my Dad when he passed that will never be sold.

I don't have any inherited guns in my possession yet.

My first deer rifle would be tuff to get out of my hands, but for the right sum I would part with it without hesitation.

I have a Victrola with a ton of music for it from my great uncle. It is suppose to be pretty valuable and when he passed away he told his wife he wanted it to stay in the family so give it to someone that wouldn't sell it. Its a good house decoration and still works and I promised I wouldn't sell it.

Well played...... roflmao

I started my own hunting tradition so I didn't inherit anything. I would sell all my guns etc...if it was the only way to keep my memories from all the hunts and experiences I've had in the outdoors with friends and family. cheers

Guns and stuffed inhereted from my father. It's time now, so I'm passing them down to my sons, and nephews, who knew and loved him and one to my grandson.

My integrity is by far the most valuable thing I have. It has been tested many times and I still have it.

Funny thing, like many of you, maybe in our blood, the only two "tangible" items of mine not for sell are my 1907 Stephens Crackshot Falling Block .22 and the gun cabinet it came in when I got it. Both belonged to my great grandfather and the only things of his I have - passed down through grandfather and father, and will one day be my grandson's - I hope!

I remember being 4 or 5 and shooting the Crackshot on the Canadian River with my father holding me by the shoulders. It has absolutely no kick, so he must have been making sure I was aiming properly. It is still in like new shape, but I haven't fired it in probably 30 years - just take it out periodically to wipe down and oil.

The cabinet replaced by a safe, but still store hunting stuff inside.

Scary similar story as Dalroo's. My granddad's 1916 Steven's Crackshot hangs on my office wall and would never be sold. And of course my dog's off limits as well. Everything else could have a price tag put on it if needed.

I have a few things I wouldn't sell no matter what. Those are some of my little brothers things such as his baseball glove, baseball cards, drawings he did for me before he died 23 yrs ago. I also have my grampa's 870 ringmaster and use it regularly and won't sell it.

Savage 99f in 250 savage.

But even with it being my most prized possession, 5 figures could get it from me. I’d have a talk with my dad before I sold it, but everything has a price. The price on that one is just way way way above market price.

Everything I've got is for sale, except my wife and kids...though I don't think I'd have many suitors for the asking price of a few firearms
