Lease mate went to his blind Sat and discovered a dead Barn Owl under the blind. Only thing left was a bunch of feathers and the intact head. Pretty creature as it was. What could have killed this thing like that? It was living in a nearby abandoned silo blind.

Disease, poisoned rodent, flew into the stand, who knows.

I opened my stand yesterday to be greeted by a full grown rotten buzzard in the floor. Not sure what I did in life to deserve that.

They are nasty enough alive. Time for a new stand.

The owl probably ate a rat that had eaten rat poison.

Then whatever ate the owl will be next in line.

Rat poison has impacts far beyond the rats and really needs to be reserved for severe infestations in urban areas.

Old fashioned spring traps work well. Glue boards work well in enclosed areas where no other animals will wander into them.

Under the blind sounds like a tower or elevated blind, I have seen crows kill owls?

Leave it in there. It should cover your scent while hunting.

At a lease I used to have. Two sides were high fence, this was one of them.

If the feathers were plucked then a Redtail probably got him.

Or many other reasons as others have posted.
