Sold the ones I had and do not miss them.
But, they can be necessary for cases that are neck turned, which is another thing in my rearview mirror.
Forster FL sizing dies produce less runout for me with careful set-up.
The basic Forster full length sizing die is my first choice for a sizing die as their expander produces less runout than the Redding FL dies, but Redding is good too.

I like them but they aren't a necessity.

Lee collet dies are the way to go, IMO. I've never used any other neck die, but I've seen demonstrations that convinced me that the collet die is better. I've been using them a few years myself, and I wouldn't be without them.

Bushing dies certainly have their place. But most shooters who I know that have used them, had problems with the cases. Used correctly, they are very good. 98% of shooters can use a standard $30 full length die set and make very good, match grade ammo.

I have started using full sizing dies more now. There's bushing dies that are also full length, which is all I use. When buying them, they are called "full length bushing die".

Yes FL bushing dies are necessary for me, I turn the necks on my casings which you only have to do once. Once I've turned the necks I know 100% all case necks will be the same then, FL size -.002. You can still get good results with quality brass and quality dies. I use Whidden dies and Lapua brass, depends if your as OCD as I am, Norma and Nosler make good brass also.

This wasn't about FL dies, this was about bushing dies. You can write, so it's safe to assume you can read.

In my opinion, the first step in having an accurate rifle is to buy an accurate rifle. Bushing dies are not needed, though they can help with accuracy if used properly, part of which is turning necks. Since I hate turning necks, I quit using the ones I have and have gone back to standard FL sizing dies and using them to size the cases for a proper chamber fit. And I use only Norma and Lapua brass now, and some Nosler.

Lee sucks. Norma/Nosler brass has always sucked and still does. Hint.
Bushings are GREAT,only if/when you are driving brass that is consistent. That means Lapooey or Alpha.
Losing the expander ball,is one of THE Great Joys in life.
