So, it looks like the McWhorter is sold, lock, stock and everything. The cash is going into the wedding fund coffee can, but some goes in the new build can. I may sell my Fairbanks LR 6.5 Creedmooor, and my Barrett, go to ONE GUN. IDK but its another addiction taking hold. This will take place AFTER the Dallas safari Club Convention as many custom builders are there. I will make a road trip to San Antonio for lunch at Mi Terras and a couple hours working with the gunsmith at Blaser USA.

Here is what I'm looking for, Please humor me, I'm not getting a Tikka build or a donor action screwed together in somebody's garage. It will be done by the best and yes, I will way over pay by about $3,000, but its my $$$ and addiction.

Calibers:

6.5 Creedmoor, don't mess with perfection
6.5 PRC, by February, we will know more about this new round
6.5X47, what can you say.
7mm-08, classic

Rifle:

Another McWhorter, Pierce Titanium action, Proof barrel
GunWerks Helios, Titanium action
Blaser R8 Carbon
J.P. Sauer 404 Synco XTC

Scope

Swarovski Z-6I or 8I, Ziess Victory (rail mount if I go Blaser), Leupold V6 HD, these are all relatively lightweight scopes. magnification will be VERY broad.

Let the process begin

This gives me a high like crazy and it gives us all something to banter around, all options are open, if I can find more options, I'm wide open

I like the idea of the PRC for saum like performance (40-50fps slower) with factory ammo options. My 6.5saum build I went a little crazy and got a full PVD treated Borden Alpine Ti but I stuck with 2b fluted to be even lighter than proof barrel.

This is the only thing I see wrong in that novel length post. You're not talking your wedding are you?

will maybe sell the Barrett after deer season. I really like both the 6.5 Creedmoors I have, The Fairbanks is more of a PRS rifle, detach box mag, etc.,little heavy for me too hunt with but I am taking it next weekend. It does REALLY well on the 200-750yrd metallic silhouette bench shoots

remember, I am in Physical Therapy for lower lumbar crap, and my right shoulder is next in line to get fixed. So a 9# rifle is like a toothpick for most of the young'uns here, but its a ton of bricks for this fat, broke down , old man.

PS: The Physical Therapist is greatness. Its really about building and working the muscles and core which support the back. Most of you are saying "DUH", right now, and I agree with you.

Why would you do that? You're not going to get one that will do it all. I mean, yeah, I want a $400 pickup that has a 1000 hp, gets 70mpg, parks like a Honda Civic, and will tow two 52' semi trailers at 200 mph, but it just doesn't exist.

My vote. IMO, the 6.5x47 Lapua case is the next level of consistency and precision for accurate shooting. It amazes me with the low ES numbers and how consistently accurate it is. And you can get 15-20 reloads on a case. It's a no brainer for me.

If you already have a 6.5 CM I'd go 7mm-08...it's my favorite caliber.

And for scope choices...not sure if the glass on the Swaro Z6 is better than the Z5, but the Leupold VX-6HD is a better scope than the Z5. In fact, I sold my Swaro Z5 to buy a second VX-6HD.

Im so damn confused. One day you are selling guns to fund a wedding, the next your are asking about new trucks to buy, the next you are asking about new custom builds, the next you are trying to sell more guns to fund wedding, the next you are wanting to buy something else, the next day you hate the NFL, the next day you love the NFL. Make up your damn mind Buzz.

Personally, I enjoy these threads.

Buzz, I'd avoid the PRC. I don't see the point. Any of the other options are good, I'd probably go 7-08 if you already have a 6.5 creedmoor.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe he already has a 6.5 creed, but in the same post says he is going to sell it and then is thinking that might be what he wants to buy.

I'm with sapper he either has too much money, which doesn't seem to be the case or he needs someone to hold his hand like a small child say slow down and figure out what he really wants.

No offense buzz, but you seem kinda all over the board.

I was being sarcastic. What I meant was that I enjoy seeing Buzz all over the map. Makes me feel less bad about spending a few bucks every now and then.

Buzz, I'd go with the 7-08. It'll basically do nearly anything if you really want a one-rifle solution.

I just know any time now, Kaitlin will ask me to come to dinner with her and her boyfriend, and it's on from there. I told her I would give them $5,000 to elope, Then we would have a big beer and BBQ celebration when they get back.

I’m changing my pick to 6.5 PRC. Have it built and document the build-with pics and post on here.
Then there’s rings base and scope then load developing. You will have at least 8 to 10 months of posts to entertain us with. grin
