I applied for the E postcard combo duck/pheasant hunt out west. My status says pending 2nd draw. Does this mean all dates are drawn and we are just waiting on the winners to accept? I've tried to find the actual draw process but I don't see it on the website.

Pending 2nd draw means you were NOT selected when they drew for the hunt. If someone does not confirm their permit, they will have a 2nd draw to fill any remaining spots. I don't know of anyone who has been selected on the 2nd draw. Probably happens every now and then.

It means all have been drawn and they are waiting for acceptance. They give 10 days to accept and if not have the second draw after that for the slots that did not get accepted by the initially selected hunters. Second drawing would have been today to be exact. It's all in an attempt to have maximum hunter participation.

Thanks. Suspected as much. It was a longshot anyway.
