Left the house this morning about 7:30, headed for Montana. License, rifle, ammo, and lots of coolers. Stopped about an hour ago in Lamar, CO.
Spent a few minutes on the way paying my respects to my 2nd great-grandparents, Sampson and Nancy Moore in Nolan, TX.
I didn't have limb loppers to trim that mesquite. Next time.
'Saw a couple of good bulls in the back of a couple of pickups, headed south. Blood starting to pump.
North again mañana.
- I saw no cactus in Cactus, Texas.
- There is no Welcome sign going into Oklahoma on 287 and the road immediately gets crappy. REALLY crappy. A seam/large bump every 25 yards or so 99% of the way through the state. Immediately clears up at CO line. (And there's a CO Welcome sign.)
- In Oklahoma, The Beaver River is dry. And there are no beaver.
