I like to roll in right at LST opening morning and listen for the shooting. Setup 50 yards downwind with 10 dozen spoonie dekes and 12 mojos. Just makin sure I hit the right area.

Saw a big group of Sandhills way up high flying south a couple weeks ago just north of Ranger. No ducks yet though.

Thanks. I figure if nothing else we can compare reports over the next three weeks to see what the numbers do. I have a couple of other places to scout and will try to repeat next week.

Drove a few ponds today around Belton... Saw 1 mallard, 2 teal, and a spoonie. Strange that both the spoonie and the mallard were by themselves on separate ponds.

Anyway, that's all I saw and I checked about 7 ponds.

We've got a few weeks to see. That's also what I could see flying high enough to be skylighted. Just need pressure and cold weather up north.

Since you can't hunt it, I'll name it. Lometa was packed with ducks as I drove by today at 6:15. No idea what ducks were on it, but it was full of 'em. Tanks at the ranch in Carbon not so much.
