Well I'm in the fly way here in Breckenridge and my season has been average. Have had several good hunts, a few great hunts and a couple of not so good hunts. Yesterday was not so good.

Mine was not so good. Opening day was not the best but okay, after that it fell off then we got a good push of birds around the end of September and early October. Lots of birds but no hunters to keep them flying. Now they are all gone.

Lots of birds up here towards the red river. Dad and I had 19 in an hour.

A TPWD website article said, " Dove season looks promising" we know that's wrong!

Mine been pretty good. 15 hunts with 15 limits. I have not been in about 2 weeks though...just got back today from Vegas from a trade show. I'm going to try to make it out one last hunt before our lease ends on the year. On a side note when I flew out to Vegas we flew right over Throckmorton. I could also see our dove lease...looks much diffrent from the air than truck level.

Worst year out of the past 5 or so. However, loved every minute in the field.

Hasn’t been bad but normal areas that usually have a lot of birds are slow but was able to go to some new areas and have had some good hunts.

I just haven’t been able to hunt as much this season as in years past. There was a time when I’d go 2-3 time a week through most of the season.

Great year for me. 18 hunts with 18 limits taken. I'm sure I could get several more limits this season but 270 dove is plenty for my family till next season so I am calling it quits.

Was in Graford yesterday morning. Saw birds working sunflower fields but nothing came into ours. Fewer birds but it was cool and wet. Only stayed until 8:30

This is what I believe too.

I've seen only a handful here in the Katy/Brookshire/Monaville area.
A friend of mine that helps out on Guided Dove Hunts here has told me he hasn't seen any either.

September was great with local birds in Fisher County.

Once the first little cool spell came they were gone like usual.

No water in our tanks this year so haven't had any luck with the migrators.

Last 5 hunts with my son we've shot 8, 7, 3, 2, and 2 birds.

We averaged a little over 12 birds per man in September.

I went on the opener for south zone in Freer. Hammered them. My bride and I went arrowhead hunting on the ranch. We kicked off a bunch of doves at a water hole. We just sat next to the pond in the shade and shot them as they came trickling back in. We were both shooting our .28 gauges. Man those little bores are fun.

A good season, had a couple of slow hunts in mid September but October made up for it.

I guess you could say quality over quantity. I've hunted a lot less than normal, but the ones I've had have been very good. No local lease means a lot less wasting time for a bird or two. Concentrated a few trips out west and down south.

Mine was about as good as I could expect. I spent about 9-10 days in the field and limited about 90% of the time. I have lots of dove in the freezer and am thankful for that. I just want to get out once more. Hopefully the dove will show up.
