When I was a kid, many years ago, one of my friends father was a police office and did a lot of reloading. I remember once walking into the garage and seeing him at his bench over a pan of powder, with a marlboro hanging from his mouth. Even as a kid, I did not think that was terribly safe. Smokeless wouldn't really be that bad. Black powder on the other hand would be scary.

Pay attention if you load for more than one pistol caliber... Necked up a .40 S&W to .45 caliber, huh? I can think of some good names for it!

Always keep your dip cup and spent primer collector separate.

Always tag your powder container/ hopper with the powder and charge weight you are using.
When finished put the powder back in the original container.
Remove the tag and make appropriate entries into your reloading journal.
