I picked this piece of twisted wood up about 20 years ago on a ranch north of Sonora that I was hunting on. I thought is was some kind of vine and it may very well be but the interior is solid. I may stabilize it and make some scales out of it. I think it would look good on one of my more rustic style knives.
Opinions?

That would look very good. What does the end grain look like? Can you take a slice out of it to see what the "innards" look like? Betcha they will be awesome.
