Looking at one of these for work. Currently using kubota. No complaints about kubota quality, just like something that rides smoother. Currently have 1500 hrs on 3 yr old machine , so it gets used a lot . Just looking at single seat model . I believe it�s the 825 ci. Anybody have any experience good or bad?

Yes sir I�ve know quite a few that say the same thing. But the realty is most don�t use them near as much as we do . Most people that have Polaris machines love them, but they use them on the weekend part of the year, they don�t hold up for our use . I�m not saying that to start arguments with Polaris owners, only tying to emphasize that ours are used daily, all day long . Looking for that kind of input. Rode one around at dealership and liked it. But that�s in smooth dirt parking lot, meant to show how smooth they ride.....basically in non realistic conditions. Thanks for any help

They have a great suspension and I use mine daily. Main source of trouble for me was bad fuel. Since switching to steel fuel storage tanks and e-free gas (with Stabil), no more troubles. They have a high tech engine made by Peugeot I think. Lots of power and they will flat haul butt. Plenty of power too, mine is used to tow broke down tractors home from the field.

Get Bill in, he uses his daily too, but it's not an 825i.

I believe it share the same engine as the mule fx. You might check that out, and the bed is huge.

I bought a Mule Pro DX about a year ago and run it pretty much every day. So far so good, rides and drives really good and is the most fuel efficient piece of equipment I have ever owned. Yanmar small diesel engines are top notch. I would doubt it will be as durable as a Kubota because there is a lot of plastic on the new mules.

I use mine everyday.



I hunted off it and used it while judging NSTRA trial for years. My complaints were loose bed. I had to bolt it down,. Another problem was my hand brake. You could drive it if it was not tight. Maybe those problems have been fixed.



It was heating up last year. That was caused by a blown fuse.

I can understand the need for a smoother riding UTV. Our dirty, grimy, nasty old Kubota just keeps on running and seems bulletproof, but it rides hard. Great for serious work, but not so great for joyriding.

A few days ago I crawled all over a new JD Gator, though I didn't drive it. Very nice, and I can see why my cousin's wife declared ownership of his new Gator, forcing him to buy a second one. Drive up to his place and you can see quickly who drives which one. Hers...no mud. His...mud covered.

Anybody out there have one with more than 2k hrs on it? Curious how they hold up at that time frame

Mine doesn't have high hours on it, but is is several years old, all paid for, and still thinks it's new. I have no bed gripes like Bill, but I wanted power steering and it came only with the hydraulics package, so I have a power tilt bed and the brush busting armor around the edges, which I do now appreciate, unlike when I 'had' to buy it. Without it I would've busted off several body parts by now bumping off hard stuff.

List of gripes -

The emergency brake. Don't drive with it on, even a short distance. That's a very expensive mistake that Bill and I learned the hard way. Don't expect it to hold rock solid on a slope. When you set it and release the foot brake, it will roll forward a bit before it stops. Be aware.

The seat covers. Mine is stored outside, under three pine trees in the shade. The seats started showing wear pretty quickly. Find that outfit in Arkansas that makes high quality seat covers and cover the seats immediately. Great covers that stay dry in the rain.

Do not run ethanol treated gas! You can't burn it fast enough to use it before it ruins your fuel system. Efree only.

That's all I got after several years of daily use.

I can't help you on the 825i but we have a Gator just like Oxner has and in 11 years I've replaced 2 fuel filters and a battery. It's been way more reliable than our Kawasaki Mule.

we run them a lot on our job sites. Most have WAY more than 2000 hrs on them and they just seem to not stop running. tires, shocks and batteries are about all that get worn out.

I'm currently in the market for a S4 for personal use and will be buying one very soon.

have a 06 rhino with 3800. You can tell, but still kicking. Use to use it as tractor until we got a tractor. If they still made them, I wouldn't still have this one.

I bought one used in 2011. It's an 07 model. I've changed the battery, emergency brake and about to do the shocks. It's been very reliable and I like the over-sized bed. We have a small place - a little over 7 acres and I use it almost every day.

The oversized bed is a plus. It's a full 49 inches all the way through the tailgate. I have a 48 inch dog box. It fits right in there.

To the guy that uses them on the job site..... construction, or oil field? Either is impressive, oil field just more so ....

My pro-mule dx has a bed that is 54x54. Don�t know about longevity, only have 3 hours on it so far

natural gas compression and pipeline work.

That makes me feel a lot better. One thing that I learned in my oilfield days was that 1 � oilfield mile� was equivalent to about 150 highway miles..

One more question. I read that suspension is tuneable to accommodate for various cargo weight. How easily is that done? Or have you ever even messed with it? We keep small trailer hooked up, so will be under constant load. Kubota is solid axle, so it doesn�t matter. But going to independent suspension, machine will be under constant load . Best I can tell none of them are made for that ......

I�d say on avg I�ve got 500lbs, including guesstimated tongue weight , at all times. Kubota has tunable rear end, not easy, but does adjust. I think most offer it now, but unclear so far in my research
