When I was a youngster we killed hogs in the fall. It was the job of my brother and I to dip the hog in hot water and scrap the hair. We could have used this, but there was no cordless drills back in thems days. The only good part was at the end of the day we rendered the skin into lard which produced " fried pig cellulite". food

Roger that, and meat turns out WAY more tender BBQ'd. Snake's got it figured out. It's well worth the effort IMO.

I use my pear burner too. Burn off hair, Blister the skin and on the smoker.

Not much effort required to wave a torch and wipe with a glove...a whole lot less effort than scraping or skinning one...

We still scald the old fashioned way. I like to put olive oil and salt the skin. It tastes good. I don't think it would be the same if it was torched first. barf
