Had my second taste at hog hunting this weekend at Kuenstler Rams and Exotics. The hogs weren't hitting the feeders much (probably due to the high quantity of natural food sources) but I did manage to get a 100lbs sow! I thought I dropped her with one shot and watched her for awhile before going to get the Polaris but by the time I got back she was gone! I heard rustling in the brush and found her on her side about 10 yards from where I hit her. Just as I cocked my side arm she charged but thankfully both shoulders were blown so she verred left and missed me. She paused just long enough for me to put one behind the ear and put an end to the whole debacle. Needless to say, I was pretty shocked as I've never hunted anything that fought back! Again I'm shocked at how much damage these animals can take and still pose a threat.

Awesome! Hogs are the zombies of the hunting world for sure! Just a few nights ago I took a neck shot on a 60 lbs sow and then shot what I thought was two more hogs.. Turned out was only one more and the second one was the one that I first shot that got up with a hole in her neck to run again!

Head shot is the only way to be sure, but as we all know sometimes it just does not present itself.

Hope to hear more stories of your hog hunts!
