I wasent able to plant a food plot this year, so I bought a Deer Cane block and Wildgame innovations apple brick to put in my fenced areas with my feeders, anybody ever try these and have any luck, I know hogs eat just about anything is there anything out there that I can put out and the hogs won't eat. I also bought some wildlife innovation chestnut rage because it was on sale never used it figured I would give it a try. Thanks.

I put a mineral block in my feed pen right in front of the camera and never got a single pic of a deer eating it. Other people on THF swear by them.

Certain times of year, my deer hammer the block I get from the feed store, they have really slowed down in the past 2 weeks as well. Last month I got photos everyday of fawns, doe and bucks on the salt/mineral.

I wouldn't put a lot of faith in one as it gets cooler though, winter time I hardly ever see a deer on the block.

They will use it if they need it, certain times of the year more than others. I keep mineral out year round, but notice most of the consumption is late winter and mid summer. I use a cattle mineral that is in granule form in a summer blend and fall blend.

I've been using the yellow sulfur mineral block for over 40 years ... They are very hard and don't deteriorate in the weather like most others do, also helps keep the ticks/fleas down. hogs will lick on them, maybe even roll em around but they last a long time. Deer tend to be totally by chance on them, hit more frequently at certain times of the year but nothing consistent.

Wish I'd ave saved the TC photos from the past 3 days, I still have deer hitting the mineral salt block I get from the feed store.

I use Trophy Rock (from Tractor Supply) and the deer eat them up! I keep one at each feeder (4) and I have to replace them 3 times a year.

There's only 2 seasons in a year. Deer season and getting ready for deer season.

I think it is getting a little late in the season but you never know. Every area is different.

We've tried the wildgame blocks as well as the apple and sugar beet blocks from Cabelas with no real positive impact over what corn does. Trophy rocks work well but we've found the Champions Choice trace mineral blocks from TSC get more use and at $6.50 for 50# it lasts longer and costs less.
