Call is one of the original Foxpro CS-24's, I keep it set up on a short tripod, usually about 18" off the ground. Since it is one of the originals it has the older remote that isn't as good, and the extra height helps with both remote range and getting the sound out better. Both stands I started with wacky woodpecker, then swapped to waning jack later on. May have been a little coyote pup screams thrown in as well, can't remember for sure. The coyote my daughter shot (2 1/2 minutes into the second stand) came in to woodpecker. Pretty sure all the others came in after I swapped to waning jack.

Normally I shoot a Rem 700 in 243, but that day I was rolling old school. VZ-24 Mauser in 257 Roberts, shooting a 100 Hornady with IMR-4064. Douglas barrel, Timney trigger, Boyds stock, Silencerco Omega. Barrel is cut to 20". I cerakoted it myself in Sniper Grey. Vortex Viper 4-12x40.

My daughter is shooting the rifle that used to be one of my favorites, before she took it over and stole it from me. CZ-527 American in 223, barrel cut to 18", stock modified with an adjustable buttplate so I can shorten it up for her to shoot. Scope is a SWFA 6x42 Mil-Quad in Warne rings. Can is a Silencerco Specwar 556K with an ASR brake. Load is a 40 VMAX pushed as fast as it will go (about 3400) with W-748. That is hand grenade speed with that bullet. She loves that little rifle and is pretty deadly with it. She has killed several deer with it (first one at 6 years old) using the old discontinued Nosler 60 grain Solid Base. We are out of those now and will be swapping to the 64 Nosler Bonded for deer season.

First stand one coyote came in, angling from behind us. Not really spooked, but looking at us and not stopping as he loped by. Too fast for her so I just rolled him up about 75 yard when I could tell he wasn't going to stop. Second stand had one come in pretty quick, he ran straight in to us giving plenty of time for her to get set. He stopped facing at 45 yards and she flat smoked him center chest, He went all stiff legged and rolled over on the spot. About the 15 minute mark a pair came in really hot. Too much too fast for her, and she tells me, "Shoot them Dad!" I busted the female when she stopped at 30 yards, and the old male grabbed about 3 gears before you could blink. I finally caught up with him about 100-120 yards out, swung way in front and rolled him up, breaking his spine right in front of his pelvis. He was still alive and plenty pissed when we got to him and I had to put a finisher on him. He was an old dog with wore out teeth.

Here is a better picture of that old Mauser. This is the first dog, starting to get the mange pretty good. He was quartering away pretty hard, put the bullet in the back of his ribs angling forward.
