yup - white oaks on my property north of DFW are dropping acorns already - seems early by about 6weeks or so - prolly result of 2+ years of good rains throughout the year.
Got pecans the size of my palm too (still green - but full size already).

Deer sure gonna be FAT at start of season this year!

Yep, last 2 weeks here in the hill country, dripping springs, Round Mountain area, acorns pelting the house and barn here! Think we might have an extra winter this year? 2 local coons i see from time to time dont have a heavy coat yet, but i may be wrong.
Would like to see longer chill hours this winter for my fruit trees this year!

White oaks dropping for 2 weeks...parking lot full of them near Lewisville.

The red oaks had dropped some near Sulphur Springs 2 weeks ago, but not fully. Those that had fallen were two times the size they were last year. I'll know more next weekend.

The rain knocked ours down here in Wimberley for now. There are lots of brown ones that the deer don't want. We have lots of browse after that rain.

Not much dropped in Sulphur Springs over the past 3 weeks, which are white oaks.

Had to reduce my feeder throwing time down to 2 seconds because the corn is piling up due to all of the acorns.

Heard some feedback from our place this past weekend that some feeders were left untouched. Will see if that's trending when we head down this Thursday.

There's like 5 oaks on our 10K acres lease out west, and I think they're shin oaks. up

We hunt in Bosque county and our live oaks have already dropped the very few acorns they made this year. I haven't seen a single acorn on the post oaks. We had a bumper crop last year.

And all them billion oaks make a billion acorns each on our place. Along with the acorn drop came a lot of rain and new growth too. You can't hardly find a deer at a feeder around us. There is a nice pile of corn under some feeders.

This is where having hogs comes in kinda handy. I was on a buddies place recently and under almost every oak tree was rooted up and cleaned up of acorns by the hogs. Less acorns for deer is prob the only plus for having hogs.

It was fun sitting up in a tree in the dark hearing the critters munch away grin
