Do you ever get that feeling that you need to do something really bad, Not not that Mother Nature call feeling but the feeling you just need to do something.

Sitting in a Stand in Mississippi on a cold rainy morning I got the feeling I needed to be in the woods near there hunting instead even though it ewas nice dry and warm in that enclosed stand. I started closing the windows and thought wait don't have time for that I can close them later. Got out of the stand and headed into the woods. went a little way and something told me to slow down and take a different path to the area I was headed. I made that change as well and with the cover of a mound covered in honeysuckle slipped in to less than 20 yards from a nice buck which I promptly dispatched. Had remained in the Stand most likely would have never got him.

Had a nice 10 point come through behind a doe one morning that I could have taken but they were headed toward my Dad and I thought perhaps they will continue to him figured later perhaps a 50/50 chance. About 30 minutes later my Dad got him and that was his first and only ten point buck. Hae never been so happy I passed on a deer.

Those hunts happened on My Uncles place that I now own that part of his property. Lots of hunting memories there including 2 of my nephews first bucks.

Sometimes nothing happens, more times than not something does. Get that feeling a lot on my land that my grandfather passed down.

Oh yeah. A gift from God called instinct.

It has lead me down paths to success on some nice animals.

I've taught my girls to listen to that voice inside you. Not only can it help you be successful in hunting, but it can also save your life!

Intuition has been a big part of my family's life. I've been somewhere and just stood up and said I have to step out a minute and then the phone rings or just been sitting with the wife and told her lets go for a ride somewhere and something out of the ordinary happens. She calls it my "radar" and calls my family telepathic. rofl One example was at a county fair one time when I told her it was time to go but the kids weren't close so I was trying to be funny and said watch they will be near the gate. Yep, there they were and after getting home we see on the news where there was shoot out at the Ft Bend County fair near where we were parked. That's just one time. Another time I saw a whiskey bottle on a table at a party and out of the blue I grabbed it. A fight was breaking out and one of the guys reached for it but I already had it in my hand. Situational awareness is important but gut feeling need not be ignored and you won't need situational awareness.

Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

The voice in my head has gotten / kept me out of alot of trouble. A couple of times if I hadn't listened, it could have been bad.
