I am looking for a 1903a3 for a custom rifle build. I don't care if the stock is pretty or beat up, or if barrel is bad: I want the receiver, trigger assembly, sites, bolt, etc to be nice (not pitted, etc., but it doesn't matter if the finish is gone, as I am going to have them re-finished).

A rifle that someone "sporterized" back in the 50's -60's when people were doing that a lot would be fine.

Please let me know what you have and how much you are asking.

Hey Greg, you might check on page 3, barnshooter had a Smith Corona for sale. My understanding, those are the premiere 1903s, alot of them were converted to A4 sniper rifles.

JGW,
You might want to check the for sale postings on the CMP website forum. There are usually some barrelled receivers in all conditions there for a reasonable price.
