Thinking about jumping into the AR10 game primarily for night time thermal hunting in West Texas where many of our shots are 200-250 yards and the 6.8 just isn't packing enough punch at those distances. When I can get closer I do but many of the sets you are on a ridge or cliff with a big valley and the feeder on the other side so these longer shots are necessary and I want something that is gonna have more ft/lbs at those distances than a 120 gr SST. Still keeping the 6.8 for 200 yds and in. http://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-gen2-...-516446798.html

I've had one for a few years but have never shot it. Fit and finish are nice enough. Don't like the proprietary parts though.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

Hmm I guess if you never chose to change it from a stock rifle it could be a nice option but I like to be able to change things if I don't like them or if something better comes out.

It seems most AR10's are not compatible w/other manufacturers AR10's. Most 308 ARs are either SR25 or AR10 pattern. The PSA is a hodgepodge of both and a few proprietary pieces thrown in for good measure. Rock River and POF are similar in that way.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

Other options include:
Delton Echo 308
Diamondback DT10
Not that I've shot any of them, bumped into these while building myself an AR10

I would go for the Savage msr 10 in 6.5 creedmoor Given the spotty accuracy reports of Savage's first AR10 I'd proceed cautiously on that 1400.00 option. Heck if you like to roll the dice (limited info on a gun's performance) based on 6.5 Creedmoor (no doubt a great caliber) then consider a LaRue Tactical Ultimate Upper with a stripped lower for about the same cost ...

Looks like it's got all the parts one might want, and you could probably turn a profit on it at the gun show if the rifle didn't shoot.

I've had a DPMS LR-260H in 260 Remington for several years, and it has been a great rifle and very accurate. For the money,I'd buy another DPMS if I needed it.

I've turned several friends on to that model

Won't be buying In a few words, what are the common complaints? the biggest issue is the first round won't fully seat in the chamber even when using the forward assist the bolt wasn't going all the way forward when releasing the charging handle. One video I watched the guy had to try like 6 times before it worked properly but no issues once he fired.

Makes me wonder if there was something in the chamber (like the rifle hadn't been cleaned from the factory). Did it do it every time or just once?

I don't believe it was any sort of operator error as it shows him lock the bolt to the rear, insert mag, releases the bolt and the bolt stopped about 3/4 way to the chamber and then even when pressing the forward asset it wouldn't go any further forward.

Sounds like the bolt wasn't rotating and locking the lugs like it should. Seen it happen when they're way too dry.

Most of the problem reviews and posts I have seen are 2 plus years old. Don't own one personally but my mouse finger starts itching to click "buy now" every time I get their email, which is about twice a day.

Wonder if most of the issues was with their Gen 1 AR10's. Their Gen 2's are supposed to be pretty nice....hell of a price for sure.
