So I got busted in my tree stand by a doe during this afternoons hunt. I've had staredowns with deer and also had them get kind of skidish, but never sound the horn at me like today. She had 3 others with her, but the crazy thing is I couldn't even see the one blowing at me. Anyhow, my question is how long would you guys let this stand sit before you hunt it again? I just started getting some decent bucks on camera but I don't want to over pressure it. What do you guys think?

A week if you want to be safe. Shoot that doe the first chance you get cause she has your spot pinned.

Yeah I got “kinda” busted yesterday evening as well. Group of doe came in and instead of going into the feeder pen the lead doe took a long way around and approached from downwind. Unfortunately it was at a point when my thermacell was running dry and gave a slight Smokey smell and I think between me and the smell she didn’t like what she smelled and trotted off, taking all the rest with her. She didn’t blow, didn’t snort, just knew something wasn’t right and left the scene. I don’t think she knew I was there, just called no joy and went below the hard deck.
It probably didn’t help that these doe were listening when someone close by was opening and closing gates and ran what sounded like a vacuum(could have swore these folks were on my lease but couldn’t see the house to know for sure). They were somewhat skiddish anyway combining that noise and all the cow noise that was going on. May be a regular occurrence at this stand this year so I am preparing myself for that, but once the wheat comes up it will be game on...

A week if you want to be safe. Shoot that doe the first chance you get cause she has your spot pinned. I had the same deal as the OP...I know this Ol nanny doe has my stand pinpointed. She circled completely behind every area of cover while the other 4 followed her. Came to my far left, upwind, and stared at me until dark. I finally eased my arm down, and she raised Cain and took off. I can only assume she was the doe that was the deer I shot out of that stand last year, and hasn't forgotten? Who knows...what I do know is that I'm taking my pop up blind, and setting it behind some debris by the cross fence that was left behind from the flood, and gonna try to nail her in 2 weeks when I go back up, as she sneaks around the trees and is focused on the ladder stand
I will get off in a little bit You shouldnt have said that

I had a ladder stand I bow hunted from up in Missouri. Got busted by a spike one evening. I went in the next day and used a climbing stand about 10 yards from the ladder. Watched that spike come in from behind that stand and sniff the steps to see if I was there. Gave me a perfect shot to add him to my freezer.
