After a few years of not trying anything new. I put up feeder pens, threw out salt and deer cane.
Thoughts.
Hogs are crazy this year. We also got a couple guys starting to trap hogs

I've used Deer cane before on the Neches River years ago. Nearly 22 years ago come to think of it. Hogs would tear it up before deer really had a chance to get into it. I do remember seeing deer tracks in the massive holes in the earth from the hogs rooting up the cane though. If memory serves me they make a block. Seems like I remember it lasting a bit longer oviously but with the amount of rain fall in east Texas even the blocks would dissolve quickly. The old faithful Apple Corn seemed to do the best back then. Anyway good luck this year!

Myself and another fellow have had decent luck with pouring a bottle of black magic in area that stay moist almost year round. Other than that my luck is the hogs dont let anything sit long enough for the deer other than a salt rock

I used some when setting scouting cameras this year in San Augustine County. Poured it over a downed log and the hogs had the log broke in half and pushed 10 yards away in a week. Tried pouring it on a pine cone and had a few deer come to the pine cone that was placed away from the other attractants.

I tried some of the Deer Cane but had no luck with it drawing in deer. I've found protein/corn feeders draws best.

Have you red the ingredients... salt salt sodium and more salt. I think a 50lb block of salt for 5 bucks makes more sence.
