Just got a few BB and axis and turned out on the ranch. Question, is there anything special I need to do for them as far as feed or supplements like mineral blocks or salt licks? I know BB don't do well in cold weather especially if wet. But any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I don't do anything special for my Red deer, Axis or Blackbucks. They use the same ground mineral sites I have for the WTs. I feed a 18% cattle commodity mix with calcium and vitamins added, fed out of free choice gravity feeders.

The summer mix is 65% corn gluten pellets, 30% soybean hull pellets and 5% distillers grain.

The winter mix is 35% corn gluten pellets, 30% soybean hull pellets, 30% rolled corn and 5% distillers grain.
The corn is for added carbs, biggest WT 265#, Axis 298#, Stag 580# so it works. Have BBs 21-23" on same feed.

It costs about half of "deer" pellets.
