There is a place near me that holds 2 gun competitions (rifle and pistol) and you can use 22lr on the range. This is something my wife and I want to get into and like the idea of 22lr. Any suggestions on what rifle/pistol would be best for this type of competition? I currently have the mp 15-22 and my wife has the walther p22 but I am thinking I need a 22 pistol in a full size. Just checking if anyone has experience with this type of competition.

No experience in competition but I have a few 22lr pistols and the Ruger in whatever model seems to work the best. Mine is the 22/45 lite but all the rugers with similar mechanisms seem to be good functioning.

There's no sense in spending money on a game that you haven't experienced yet; you may buy something completely different than what you need. Take the guns you have now, plenty of ammo, and a couple spare mags to the next match. Have fun and enjoy it.

Y’all are right. I will check it out first then go from there. Guess I was just excited having a reason to get another one.
